He has extensive applications experience, and an uncanny knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, networks and internetworking. He spent 12 years providing service and support to small and medium sized business in the Okanagan Valley, BC. These businesses include: Accounting, Architectural, Engineering, and Legal firms, Medical Clinics, Radio Stations, Ski Resorts, Retail Stores, and the Lumber Industry. He also spent 4 years as the Information Technology Manager for a Ski Resort providing support for all resort systems. This included installing and maintaining Novell, Windows, and UNIX Servers, Software Application Support, and Desktop and Helpdesk Support. He has designed, installed and maintained networks as small as 2 stations and as large as 300 stations. He has also designed and installed Fibre Optic backbones and RF Data Systems. | Where did the name Blueshift come from? Blue Shift is from Einstein's Theory of Relativity. As a result of the Doppler effect, if a light source is moving towards you (at enormous speed) the light waves will appear to be shifted towards the blue end of the spectrum (shorter wavelengths) or Blue Shifted. Blue Shifted objects in the universe are not common. Most objects are moving away from us and are Red Shifted. This very definition parallels the mission and vision of the company: |
