AMAZING THING #15: “TRY BEFORE YOU BUY”

“Who cares about a stove’s BTUs?” asks Jeffery Sears, CEO of the new retail concept PIRCH, where dryers tumble and steam showers mist. “When you’re stove shopping, you’re thinking, Can it help me make my famous cookies?” Send over the recipe and one of PIRCH’s chefs (yes, there are in-house chefs) will have your ingredients waiting for you to “test drive” the latest ranges.

Afterward, sip a latte from the built-in espresso machine for sale. In the bath area, dozens of fixtures sprout from the walls, waiting for you to discover the spray of your dreams.

There are currently four California locations, with stores planned for Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas in 2014.
